Harper government guts environment programmes

CANADA’S STEPHEN HARPER GOVERNMENT is spending more than $60 billion on new military jets and warships while slashing more than $200 million in funding for research and monitoring of the environment. Amongst the programmes now crippled is Canada’s internationally renowned ozone monitoring network, which was instrumental in the discovery of the first-ever ozone hole over Canada last spring. German government’s development aid for neo-Nazis
The role of the German state in the promotion of neo-Nazis, responsible for racist and fascist violence, terror and serial murders (where the victims were almost exclusively Turkish): the Thuringia Office for the Protection of the Constitution paid amounts of DMs in the six-digits to influential right-wing extremist militants, german-foreign-policy.com reports
ERFURT (Nov. 16) – New revelations on the neo-Nazi serial murders of nine men of non-German origin and a female police officer are incriminating a German domestic intelligence agency. According to media reports, a member of a recently discovered neo-Nazi terror group presumably had contact to the Thuringia Office for the Protection of the Constitution – even after he went underground. The affair could become an “intelligence agency problem,” predicts the domestic policy spokesman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, Hans-Peter Uhl. In the 1990s, under the pretext that they are very important informants, the Thuringia Office for the Protection of the Constitution had, in fact, paid amounts of DMs in the six-digits to influential right-wing extremist militants. Gen. Bouchard acknowledges that NATO’s informants in Libya were journalists
In a 31 October 2011 interview on Radio Canada, Lieutenant-General Charles Bouchard of the Canadian Forces, who commanded Operation Unified Protector in Libya, revealed that an analysis unit was set up at NATO headquarters in Naples. Its mission was to study and decipher what was happening on the ground, that is to say both the movements of the Libyan Army and those of the “rebels.” Continue reading
