(July 13, updated July 16, 23, 27) – On July 12, 2021 the London Guardian newspaper published a sensational decontextualized article on riots in Cuba. Along with other “serious” newspapers on every continent throughout the world, it claimed that “thousands took to the streets in cities throughout the island, demonstrating against food shortages, high prices and communist rule.”

The CIA paid a major Chilean newspaper to discredit President Allende and support the Pinochet dictatorship.

Agustin Edwards Eastman, the owner of the largest media conglomerate in Chile who died Monday, and his conservative media establishment were crucial to the CIA-backed operation to oust socialist President Salvador Allende in a coup in 1973 and install a military dictatorship, declassified documents have revealed.  Continue reading

The US ‘journalist’ as ‘tourist’

spyThe U.S. State Department is continuing its influence program against the Russian government. It finances “workshops” in Russia to eventually prepare for a “colour revolution” there. It hires academic trainers from U.S. universities to work on various parts of the plans. One of those parts is the recruitment and influencing of Russian journalists. When the State Department sends those trainers to Russia it tells them to falsely claim to be “tourists.” The Russians found out about practice and told those “trainers” to stop such nonsense. CIA e-mails: The ‘access journalist’ at work

Snake.Media.AP.UPI.CIA(Sept. 5) – I have mentioned before that more than 90 per cent of reporters are in some sense “access journalists” – that is, they rely on the active help of the key figures on their “beat”. Usually the people they regularly need to access are in power: crime correspondents need help from the police, much less so than criminals; diplomatic correspondents need the help of diplomats more than they need the help of drone strike victims, and so on.
