Of perpetrators, victims and collaborators (III)

Eighty years ago, Nazi criminals and Nazi collaborators started the first pogroms and murders of Jews in the Baltic States. Baltic collaborators are hounored today as “freedom fighters”. This fascist glorification is enabled by Canada and the United States who present themselves as the greatest opponents of “anti-semitism”. Third in a series.

BERLIN (german-foreign-policy.com) – In the shadow of the invading Wehrmacht, German Nazi criminals started the first pogroms and mass murders of the Soviet Union’s Jewish population exactly 80 years ago together with Central and Eastern European collaborators. On June 24, 80 years ago, for example, pogroms began in the Lithuanian city of Kaunas under the eyes of Wehrmacht soldiers, in which German and Lithuanian perpetrators fell victim to 3,800 Jews by June 29.

Disinformation about invasion of Poland

By HARDIAL BAINS

September 1 marks the anniversary of the invasion of Poland by the Hitlerites in 1939. Instead of condemning the Nazis, reactionary forces such as the Harperites use disinformation to rehabilitate the reputation of Nazi war criminals and to cover up who were the victims of fascism in whose name the peoples of the world declared “Never Again!” At this time of year, they use the anniversary of the German-Soviet non-aggression pact signed on August 23, 1939 to claim that this was an act of appeasement, not a tactical move for the Soviet Union to buy time to arm itself for an inevitable confrontation with the Nazis. The disinformation is also used to suggest that it was the Soviets and not the Nazis who invaded Poland in September 1939 and started the war in Europe. This is to hide the fact that it was the European powers that actively appeased the Nazis and permitted the invasion of Poland, while the Soviets fought to defend that country and its people at every turn. Ultimately, this disinformation about the causes of World War II is to justify and commit similar crimes in the present. Continue reading

This day in 1941: Rumbula massacre, Riga, Latvia

Map.BalticsKillFieldsToday is the dark anniversary of the first of two dates in 1941 (the other is December 8) in which 25,000 Jews were marched to their death by Nazis in the Rumbula Forest near the capital of Latvia, Riga.

The Rumbula massacre was carried out by the Nazi Einsatzgruppe A with the help of local Latvian collaborators of the Arajs Kommando, with support from other such Latvian auxiliaries. The Arajs Kommando, led by SS-Sturmbannführer Viktors Arājs, was a unit of Latvian Auxiliary Police subordinated to the Nazi Sicherheitsdienst. It was one of the more well-known and notorious killing units during the Holocaust.

At Rumbula on 30 November and 8 December 1941, 12 German machine gunners shot about 25,000 Jews, who were marched to their death from the Riga ghetto by Latvian police. The Jews of Latvia, once numbering 86,000, were virtually wiped out. Continue reading

The Ukraine crisis – It’s the Intermarium plan again

The garbled slogans and ravings of the Ukrainian nationalists are straight from the Intermarium playbook | Dr JONATHAN LEVY*

europe_intermarium

Although Inermarium is an old concept, its modern significance is shown by the map, which was published by Stratfor, the corporate intelligence firm linked to the CIA, in 2015. It which views Turkey as the southern anchor of the Intermarium, a network of allies including Lithuania, Poland, Ukrain and Romania that occupy Russia’s European rim and have a collective interest in working with the US-NATO bloc to pressure Russia.–TS

(March 1) – Political scientists attribute the Ukraine crisis to competition between Russia and the West or East Ukraine versus West Ukraine.  While these simple explanations have their merits, there is much more at stake; nothing less the long planned absorption of Ukraine into the Intermarium and the break-up of Russia into toothless mini states.
