Dangerous developments at NATO Summit

ON September 5, the second and final day of the NATO Summit in Newport, Wales, US President Barack Obama reviewed the decisions the NATO countries took during the Summit. Obama referred to Article 5 of the NATO Charter, which specifically deals with “collective self-defence”. He stated, “First and foremost, we have reaffirmed the central mission of the Alliance. Article 5 enshrines our solemn duty to each other – ‘an armed attack against one … shall be considered an attack against them all.’ This is a binding, treaty obligation. It is non-negotiable. And here in Wales, we’ve left absolutely no doubt – we will defend every Ally.” Continue reading

TML Weekly (Aug. 30) – As the NATO Summit takes place behind a “Ring of Steel” in Newport, Wales and the peoples of Poland and all of Europe and the world mark the horrendous anniversary of Hitler’s invasion of Poland, the awareness increases that the world faces terrible dangers all over again.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper recently concluded a trip to the Arctic to witness Canada’s war exercises, codenamed Nanook, and engage in other activities which are preparing Canada’s Arctic for military occupation. TML Weekly (Aug. 30) – The NATO Summit to be held in Newport, Wales on September 4-5 is the first the aggressive alliance has held since its 2012 summit in Chicago and the first in the UK since 1990 when Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister. News report indicate that some 150 heads of state and ministers will attend, who along with their delegations and support staff will comprise some 10,000 people. Continue reading
