By Tony Seed

The 75th Anniversary of the dropping of an atomic bomb on Hiroshima on the Sixth of August 1945 is a historic universal event with profound immediate significance to present international relations, the danger of war and even nuclear war. For Haligonians, the nuclear devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki has a special meaning ,which is even more poignant in the wake of the hugely destructive explosion in  Beirut, Lebanon on August 4. US nuclear blackmail: Imposition of irrationality and war on Korea and the world

PHILIP FERNANDEZ

The Anglo-American anti-communist hysteria against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)’s announcement on January 6 that it has successfully tested a hydrogen bomb is aimed at covering up the crimes being committed by the Anglo-American system of states around the world against other countries in violation of their right to be.

What mechanisms exist for DPRK to defend itself under the circumstances of threats from the U.S. imperialists, Japan and others? Smaller nations are subject to the whims and machinations of the big powers at the UN Security Council. Continue reading

Hands Off Korea!

An Appeal to People of Conscience Regarding the DPRK’s Just Response to U.S. Preparations for a Second Korean War

090404-TorontoAntiNATO-04-cropDUE TO to the seriousness of the issues involved by the actions of the big powers against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), including those of the United Nations Security Council and of the Harper Government, we are reproducing the entire edition of TML Weekly Information Project dated March 9, 2013 concerning the escalating war preparations against the DPRK. These have directly involved two Canadian warships, the HMCS Algonquin and the HMCS Ottawa in U.S. war exercises. The special edition not only deals with how the issue presents itself but also provides comprehensive, in-depth information on the historical context. We think these are important matters of conscience. TML Weekly states: “We appeal to all men and women of conscience to take a just stand that favours the sacred cause of Peace, Freedom and Democracy. Since the position of the United States, Canada and other big powers fills the airwaves and newspapers, in this issue of TML Weekly we are providing arguments that the DPRK presents to substantiate its case and other pertinent views, comments and analysis. Join the discussion!”

‘Mock disaster’ aboard visiting US nuclear sub, and the disinformation of the Chronically Horrid

By TONY SEED

ALTHOUGH the vast majority of Canadians want an independent and nuclear-free Canada, a Canada which is a factor for peace, not war, the Government of Canada continues to welcome the unceasing “visits” of U.S. and NATO nuclear-capable warships with open arms: no questions asked. Its total hypocrisy is to the extent that it also claims to be the greatest upholder of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty under the pretext of “security” when it comes time to attacking independent states who are not kowtowing to the dictate of the United States.
