USAID: A wolf in humanitarian clothing

Propaganda and false premises mark the U.S. response to a “prisoner swap” with Cuba. In such a “deal,” Cuba would release a “wrongly imprisoned” USAID subcontractor in exchange for the freedom of three Cuban intelligence agents jailed as “terrorists” in the U.S. Continue reading

Visit of US Secretary of State promotes security integration

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry visited Ottawa October 28 in relation to the shooting of the previous week. He used the occasion to promote the idea that the Canada-U.S. security relationship now requires “tweaks,” “changes” and “additions.” He echoed the Harper dictatorship’s assertion that the killing in Ottawa was an act of terror, saying it was “common sense” to believe so. Kerry said that the U.S. and Canada will “work quietly and carefully in the next days and months” to further integrate their security apparatus. Kerry revealed: “Canada and the United States are now in discussions… with a view to making certain that every possible stone is turned over, every possible policy is reviewed…”

Kerry later met with Minister of Foreign Affairs John Baird to discuss ISIS, the Ukraine, the U.S.-Canada border, and “North American” energy issues. Such was the “security,” the content of the discussion was not disclosed.

Right on schedule: US eyes ‘buffer zone’ in Syria ‘very very closely’

As if any reasonably informed observer would be surprised, the United States is now eyeing the possibility of implementing a buffer zone in Syria “very very closely.”

On Wednesday, October 8, 2014, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry stated that “The buffer zone is an idea that has been out there. It is worth examining, it’s worth looking at very, very closely.”

Some European leaders, including French President François Hollande, have supported the idea of a buffer zone. Russia has stated that a buffer zone would require a UN vote, which would entail a lengthy process.

Fighting ISIL is a smokescreen for US mobilization against Syria and Iran

Syria will never kneel

By MAHDI DARIUS NAZEMROAYA

(Sept. 17) – THE ISIL or IS threat is a smokescreen. The strength of the ISIL has deliberately been inflated to get public support for the Pentagon and to justify the illegal bombing of Syria. It has also been used to justify the mobilization of what is looking more and more like a large-scale U.S.-led military buildup in the Middle East. The firepower and military assets being committed go beyond what is needed for merely fighting the ISIL death squads. Continue reading

From magazine covers to pronouncements by top politicians, Official Washington jumped to the conclusion that Ukrainian rebels and Russia were guilty in the shoot-down of a Malaysian passenger plane. But some U.S. intelligence analysts may see the evidence differently, writes ROBERT PARRY.

Washington (Aug. 3) – Contrary to the Obama administration’s public claims blaming eastern Ukrainian rebels and Russia for the shoot-down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, some U.S. intelligence analysts have concluded that the rebels and Russia were likely not at fault and that it appears Ukrainian government forces were to blame, according to a source briefed on these findings. Ukraine: Antisemitic flyer psywar hoax to wreck public opinion

For several months the monopoly media has unleashed a torrent of disinformation to conceal the reality of events in Ukraine, attribute the acuteness of problems to Russia or more recently “pro-Russian separatists,” and conceal the subversive role of the U.S., EU and NATO. On April 14th, Stephen Harper, without offering any evidence whatsoever, went on national TV to blame “Russian provocateurs” for the civil disobedience that has broken out in eastern Ukraine. This framed a so-called “anti-terrorist operation” launched by the putschist government on April 13 against an anti-fascist resistance movement that has been sweeping eastern Ukraine. Presto, an antisemitic flyer attributed to one of the leaders appeared in Donetsk. Behind the cloak of high ideals, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry then ensured that its existence was known to the world.
