Of perpetrators, victims and collaborators (II)

Ukraine honours Nazi-collaborators, who, 80 years ago today, participated in the invasion of the Soviet Union and carried out massacres of Jews. This fascist glorification is enabled by Canada, the United States and Germany who present themselves as the greatest opponents of “anti-semitism”.

BERLIN/KIEV (german-foreign-policy.com) – Whereas the German invasion of the Soviet Union 80 years ago is being internationally commemorated today, collaborators, who participated in the war of annihilation on the side of the Germans, are receiving state honours in Ukraine, in particular the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) and its leader Stepan Bandera as well as the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) which originated from that milieu. Together with the German Wehrmacht and troops from several collaborating states, OUN militias advanced onto Soviet territory, where they committed countless massacres of the Jewish population alongside German units. In Lviv (formerly Lemberg), 4000 Jews were assassinated within a very short period. The parliament in Kiev declared the OUN “combatants for Ukrainian independence.” A government decree calls for honouring their “patriotism” and “high morals” in Ukrainian schools. The UPA’s founding day has been a national holiday since 2015. The OUN salute adorns Ukraine’s football League’s jerseys.

Ukraine Update: The sound of war drums

Dmitriy Kovalevich reports on massive, multi-vectored air, land and sea exercises unleashed by the U.S. armed forces and NATO in and over Ukraine – and its relation to the US presidential election. Despite the global pandemic, the Canadian Forces is participating, showing the real face of the Trudeau-Freeland “multilateralism”

During September, many Ukrainians have been feeling anxious due to the increasing signs of an impending military escalation of the global conflict between Russia and the United States. Some have voiced the opinion that Ukraine could become a battlefield between the two nuclear superpowers. Naturally, this prospect is not making Ukrainians happy.

In early September, US strategic B-52 bombers, capable of carrying a nuclear weapon, flew over Ukraine for the first time[1]. Flying from the US military base in the UK, they proceeded via the Volyn region (western Ukraine) towards the Crimea, although they did not cross its borders. Nevertheless, the Russians raised the alarm and sent fighters out to intercept the “flying fortresses.” Continue reading

Remembrance Day: Canadian Forces collaboration with fascist forces

Demonstration in Ottawa on October 5, 2015 demanding Canadian government end its support for Ukrainian fascists, which continues to this day under the Trudeau Liberal government.

By TONY SEED and BILL SHPIKULA

Less than three weeks after a meeting between Justin Trudeau, Chrystia Freeland and Toronto Liberal candidates, with officials of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) in Etobicoke preceding the 2015 federal election, the Canadian Forces deployed a contingent of cadets from the Royal Military College (RMC) in Kingston as well as members of different branches of the CF to participate in “Ukrainian Remembrance Day” events in the Toronto suburb of Etobicoke on November 8, 2015. stalingrad vets

Rogov, and Alexander Yakovlevich Sirotenko, in their late 80’s or even early 90’s, looked at the present world as well as at the past, and produced an open letter, a “letter of the living” to the Chancellor of GermanyAngela Merkel. Government funds national campaign to support Ukrainian fascists

BY DOUGAL MACDONALD

On January 13, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced that his government’s Citizenship and Immigration Department, run by Jason Kenney, would give the Canada Ukraine Foundation (CUF) and its allies almost $1.5 million to conduct a “National Awareness Tour” regarding what the Ukrainian reactionaries call the “Holodomor.” Continue reading

Ukrainian SS allowed to march to the Cenotaph in London, UK

Fist-smashing-Nazi graphicMore and more evidence emerges that the Remembrance Day and other “commemorations” of the centenary of the first world war are being used not to honour the war dead – with a commitment to opposing aggression and war as a means to resolving conflicts so that no more lives are lost – but to provide a rationale for the Anglo-American government’s continuing commitment to fascism and war in the service of monopolies and imperialism. In Britain, those involved in such “commemorations” now openly include the Ukrainian Nazis.

Veterans of Hitler’s SS and their supporters are marching this Sunday, 16 November 2014, to the cenotaph in London, in commemoration, they claim, of Ukraine’s fallen ‘in all wars’. The organisers – the ‘Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain’ and the ‘Congress of Ukrainian Youth’ – include associations of veterans of the Ukrainian Nazi volunteers ‘Waffen SS Galicia’, some 5,000 of whom settled in Britain (and Canada – editor) after the Third Reich’s defeat in World War II.  Continue reading

The Ukraine crisis – It’s the Intermarium plan again

The garbled slogans and ravings of the Ukrainian nationalists are straight from the Intermarium playbook | Dr JONATHAN LEVY*

europe_intermarium

Although Inermarium is an old concept, its modern significance is shown by the map, which was published by Stratfor, the corporate intelligence firm linked to the CIA, in 2015. It which views Turkey as the southern anchor of the Intermarium, a network of allies including Lithuania, Poland, Ukrain and Romania that occupy Russia’s European rim and have a collective interest in working with the US-NATO bloc to pressure Russia.–TS

(March 1) – Political scientists attribute the Ukraine crisis to competition between Russia and the West or East Ukraine versus West Ukraine.  While these simple explanations have their merits, there is much more at stake; nothing less the long planned absorption of Ukraine into the Intermarium and the break-up of Russia into toothless mini states.
