Ten dollars of pure democracy

The 12.7 mm bullet that killed the Ukrainian opera singer Vasyl Slipak [Zelensky retold this story during the UN session, hence why he has a bullet in his hand – ed] costs $10. It, in general, is correct that the price is given in dollars. Because the country that produces these dollars has a direct bearing on everything that is happening in Ukraine now. Continue reading

A day in the life of ‘Ukrainian democracy’

(1) Further attacks on press freedom, (2) resistance to disarmament by well-armed neo-fascist volunteer battalions that will be the hammer of any future neo-fascist seizure of power in Ukraine, and (3) a high-ranking Ukrainian official’s praise for the suspects in the murder of a journalist

(June 21) – Samantha Power’s delusions notwithstanding, due to the inordinate presence of non-democratic elements and outside the Maidan government, ‘Ukrainian democracy’ remains a distant dream. We learned from the shortcomings of early ‘transitology’ in the 1990s that free and fair elections do not a democracy make.

Glorification of Nazism and the US marines who only ‘advise’

Only in Europe? The USA, Canada and Ukraine were the sole countries in the world that voted in November against the United Nations anti-Nazi resolution condemning the glorification of National Socialism and Nazi collaboration. Harper government’s subservience to Senator McCain and US interests (1)

McCain! War criminals are not welcome in Canada!

The chain of command: American general inspects his troops in the battlefield, from Libya to Halifax

By TONY SEED

One of the notorious war criminals attending the sixth annual Halifax International Security Forum (HISF) is U.S. Senator John McCain (R). McCain has a long-standing involvement with all manner of U.S. covert operations, dirty wars, aggression and war.

McCain is a former presidential candidate in 2008, the top Republican on the powerful U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, chairman of the board of the International Republican Institute (IRI, an arm of the National Endowment for Democracy of the U.S. government) since 1993, and the leading American champion of aggression, intervention and war throughout the world. Wherever this warmonger goes, violence, anarchy and chaos follow in his wake to the detriment of the people and the cause of peace.

Posted below are some of McCain’s recent misdeeds, to give an indication of the calibre of depravity of some of those attending this year’s HISF.
